Hemp plants – more than 200 million – Near Market Harborough
Check out this great ITV Central News article on the cultivation of Hemp plants near Market Harborough, in Leicestershire. This is part of a new research project – the largest ever seen in the UK.
Hemp is a type of cannabis, this crop is being cultivated under a UK Home Office license near Market Harborough.
This crop is covering 240 acres of land at the unnamed site and that is set to increase to 5,000 acres next year as testing steps up.
Carbon Dioxide is absorbed much quicker than other plants.
Did you know it would take a forest 25 years to absorb the same amount of the harmful gas that the crop can absorb in its 120-day growth cycle?
It can be used to make Fuel, Textiles Paper or Roof Insulation. The sustainable benefits are endless.
It is Strong, Versatile, Cost-effective, weather-resistant and of course easy on the environment.
You will not get high from this Hemp though as the levels of THC are minute … below 0.2%
